How To Link a Custom Domain Name To Your Artfundi Website

Want to use your own domain name for your Artfundi website? We've got you covered. 

Instead of relying on your default Artfundi URL (e.g. yourgallery.artfundi.tech), you can use a branded domain like yourgallery.com. This creates a more professional experience for your audience and strengthens your brand. 

This guide explains everything you need to know - whether you need to register a domain or already have one. 

Step 1: Register or Provide Your Domain 

Option A – Use or Register a Domain Yourself 


If you already own a domain (or plan to register one) through a provider like GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Namecheap — that’s perfect!
Once you have access to your domain's DNS settings, you’ll follow the instructions in Step 3C to point it to your Artfundi website. 

Option B – Let Artfundi Handle the Registration 

We can register and manage the domain for you through Cloudflare. We'll invoice you for the initial registration fee and annual renewals (pricing depends on the domain extension, e.g. .com, .org). 

Note: Cloudflare does not support certain extensions like .co.za at this time. 

Just send us your desired domain name, and we’ll confirm availability, pricing, and next steps. 

Step 2: Add the Domain in Artfundi 

Once you have a registered domain: 

  1. Log in to your Artfundi dashboard 

  1. Navigate to Website → DNS Settings 

  1. Enter your domain name in the blank field and click Create 

This prepares our system to link your custom domain.

Step 3: Link the Domain to Artfundi 

How you connect your domain depends on who manages it. 

Option A - We Registered the Domain for You (Artfundi + Cloudflare) 

You're all set - no action needed on your end! We’ll take care of: 

  • DNS configuration 

  • Security setup (SSL/TLS) 

  • Redirect rules (e.g. www → non-www) 

  • Cloudflare integration 

Option B - You Manage the Domain in Your Own Cloudflare Account 

If your domain is in your personal or company Cloudflare account, follow these steps: 

  1. Recreate All DNS Records:
    Manually recreate any existing records (e.g. email, subdomains, SPF/DMARC, Google verification) to avoid disruptions. Click here for the Cloudflare help article.
     

  1. Update Website A Records: 
    Set the @ (naked domain) and www A records to point to Artfundi’s IP (we’ll provide it on request).

 

  1. Add a Redirect Rule:
    Redirect traffic from "www.yourdomain.com" to yourdomain.com for consistency. Refer to this Cloudflare article for steps.
     

  1. Adjust SSL/TLS Settings: 

    Set SSL/TLS mode to Full and Turn off the SSL/TLS Recommender, you may refer to the Cloudflare help article here. 


Option C - You Registered the Domain with a Non-Cloudflare Registrar 

This is where clients often assume they can simply update a few DNS records while keeping their current nameservers. However, to properly connect with Artfundi, your domain’s nameservers must be updated to Cloudflare.

We manage your website’s infrastructure - including performance, security, and availability - through Cloudflare. This gives you: 

  • Faster load times (via Cloudflare CDN) 

  • Enhanced security (SSL, firewall, DDoS protection) 

  • Better uptime and reliability 

  • Centralized DNS control for streamlined support
     

What you need to do: 

  1. Send us your domain name 

  1. Send a copy of your current DNS zone file: This includes all your existing records — such as mail (MX) records, verification tokens, subdomains, and any third-party services you may be using.
    This allows us to replicate your DNS setup within Cloudflare to ensure zero downtime and no disruption to email or integrations. 

  1. We’ll replicate your DNS records in Cloudflare: Including your website pointing records, email (MX), and any necessary subdomains or services. 

  1. We’ll generate Cloudflare nameservers for your domain 

  1. You’ll update your nameservers at your registrar: Log in to your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap) and replace the current nameservers with the Cloudflare nameservers we provide. 

  1. Once your nameservers are updated and propagation is complete (can take 2–48 hours), your Artfundi website will go live on your custom domain.
